This is my second concert of AS. In my first concert, 4 months back, he rendered bairavi and the same kriti. Surprisingly, it is not same as it was. He put different kanakku’s in swarams and beautiful neraval.

My father always admires mahArajapuram vishwanatha Iyer’s Mohanam and for me too, the mellifluous voice of Maharajapuram santhanam in Mohanam is still No.1. I have also listened this rAga from various artists. But Saturday mohanm was something unparallal and something extra ordinary. AS took a nearby 30 minutes only for rAga Alapana of Mohanam before giving it for violin. Such a stamina and such a rendition !!!. He, normally, does not have any boundaries like “stage by stage building of rAga Alapana”. He throws the rAga and allows the rasikAs to select the beauty part of it wherever it is found. Normally, when a rAga is rendered, we know when the artist is going to finish. But for AS, suddenly there is one more like waves. Bravo man !!!!. Truly a genius.

A near 3 hours concert and each and every rendition of kiriti was given its due respect and able supported by accompanists.

Denuka rAga alapana, something new to me. Teliyaledhu – is used as a filler in concert. Nice rendition.

Mysore Srikanth and mridhangaam, Ganjira- made the concert more soothing and ecstasic.
